MetaStreme Integration
It is our great pleasure to announce WeatherSV is now utilising MetaStreme infrastructure to broadcast to the BSV network. This update greatly enhances the flexibility, robustness and potential scale of the application while simplifying many future development goals.
Increasing Value
As part of this integration we have implemented a new transaction format to increase the efficiency of getting the data to the BSV ledger. Each transaction can now contain updates for one hundred channels greatly reducing the number of transactions per day but increasing the size of each transaction.
This new format creates about a 60% efficiency gain, so even after incorporating the MetaStreme service fee (0.1 sats/byte) the value of all WeatherSV contributions will still increase about 30%.
It was important for us to ensure this process resulted in a win for all concerned with the possible exception of miners in the short term however we anticipate they will benefit overtime from MetaStreme availability on the BSV mainnet.
What Now?
Building and scaling WeatherSV clearly demonstrated that we needed to readdress much of the ‘plumbing’ we were using within the application. This announcement has been a long time coming but is a big step forward in facilitating many of the concepts we plan to implement in the near future.
During this time we have received numerous great ideas from people following our project and we know that many out there are interested in the potential of similar projects on the BSV ledger.
